One Hundred Years of the Model T 1908-2008

The Model T Ford Register of Great Britain is celebrating the Centenary of the Model T Ford. It will be based at Dryburgh Abbey Hotel, St.Boswells, Melrose, in the heart of the Scottish Borders, (Special rates have been negotiated). Websites to view include: dryburgh and visitscottishborders.

The hotel stands in a country location on the edge of the famous River Tweed, with all modern comforts, two beautiful lounges, elegant well equipped bedrooms and a luxurious pool.

Covering about eighteen hundred square miles the Scottish Borders stretches from the rolling hills and moorland in the west, through the gentle valleys, to the rich agricultural plains of the east, and the rocky Berwickshire coastline with its secluded coves and picturesque villages. Nestling between Edinburgh and the north of England, the softly rolling landscapes and richly historic past of the Scottish Borders make it a uniquely inviting destination for driving your Model T Ford.

We will give you daily routes, adding in scenery with coffee and lunch stops, the roads are all suitable to the

age of your vehicles, we hope you will enjoy our choice of routes taking in the most picturesque parts of the Scottish Borders. The traffic is light and the scenery splendid, do come and join us and help celebrate this historic event in this lovely part of Scotland, “The Scottish Borders”. There will be four full rally days, with a half day for the Concours D’Elegance on the Wednesday, after which you can explore the area for yourself. Although this event covers five days, should you wish to come for part of the week you will still be very welcome.
