11th - 13th June 2010 - Balmer Lawn Hotel in Brockenhurst, Hampshire
We will be based at the Balmer Lawn Hotel in Brockenhurst, Hampshire, which is situated in the heart of the New Forest - an idyllic location. Enjoy the famous New Forest ponies and magnificent deer that still have the right of way, as they freely graze the surrounding area, including the towns of Brockenhurst and Burley.
The hotel offers its own extensive leisure facilities, swimming, gym, squash and tennis. It is independently owned and prides itself on offering a friendly atmosphere and excellent service to all its guests. The hotel has 55 rooms with a four-star rating.
Friday
Friday's tour will be traveling to Sir Alfred Hillier's famous arboretum and gardens, world famous for rhododendrons and azaleas. Returning in the afternoon to the hotel
Saturday
On Saturday evening there will be a Gala Dinner at the hotel. Lord Montagu will be joining us and the guest speaker will be Mike Ware, the famous author and motoring journalist.
Sunday
Sunday's trip is to Beaulieu to meet with Lord Montagu, who started it all the way back in 1959.The hotel has ample parking facilities for towing vehicles and trailers. There is a camp site called Hollands Wood right next door to Balmer Lawn, where camping, caravan and motorhomes can stay at very reasonable cost. B&Bs and small hotels are also nearby.
